Gears 5 continues the story of JD, Kait, Del and co. as they take on the revived Locust threat in the form of the Swarm. On top of that, Kait’s trying to figure out her family history, following what happened at the end of Gears 4’s adventure. Here’s how long Gears 5 is and how many acts and chapters there are.
How Long Gears 5 Takes to Beat
Gears 5’s campaign took us around 10 hours to beat in total. This included some time exploring both the Valley and the desert in the Skiff, completing various side missions and searching for Relic Weapons. We also had the difficulty set to Intermediate, and played on our own.
The campaign allows for up to three player co-op, and having friends by your side will certainly help you cut through the Swarm forces even faster. However, by cranking up the difficulty, you can expect a tougher challenge, upping the time it takes to beat Gears 5.
While it took us about 10 hours to beat Gears 5 in our first playthrough, it’s certainly possible to spend more time in the campaign picking up all of the collectibles, grabbing all of Jack’s upgrades, and seeking out all of the side missions and Relic Weapons.
How Many Acts and Chapters Gears 5 Has
There are a total of four acts, each of which has between two and five chapters. There are 15 chapters in total to work your way through in the game, and these all vary in length, with some tasking you to complete an epic task, while others are more just focused on driving the narrative forward.
