We’re going to finally experience the long (looong!) awaited third chapter of the saga on September 24 for North America and September 27 in Europe.

The trailer shows returning characters that fans of the series weill be familiar with.

“Even as Rean Schwarzer and the new Class VII look ahead to the future, many familiar faces from the past remain. Which of Rean’s old friends have lingered in the dawn of this new chapter? Will their presence be the edge Class VII needs to face the shadows of an unknown foe?”

You can check out the trailer below.

As mentioned above, the localization of the series has been a long affair, with a large gap between II and III as it went through a change in western publisher from Xseed to NIS America. We don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but over two years will have passed since the Japanese release when The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III will launch in English.

In the meanwhile, Xseed is still retaining the rights for the first and second games, and they just released the PS4 version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II

Nihon Falcom already released IV in Japan and is preparing to move on with two projects in development. Unfortunately, we have no idea about when we’ll see the end of the Cold Steel series in the west.
