What Are Wumpa Coins in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled?
Wumpa Coins are the currency that is used to buy cosmetic items and some characters in the game. If you head to the Pit Stop store from Crash Team Racing’s main menu, you’ll be able to spend them on a variety of things, from characters from the Crash Nitro Kart game to stickers for you karts.
There’s currently no way to buy them with real world money, and a lot of the items are pretty expensive, so you’ll just have to save up for a while to buy what you want.
How to Earn Wumpa Coins
Thankfully, getting them doesn’t require any extra effort above simply playing the game. Completing any race will get you some, with finishing higher up the podium getting you more.
Sometimes you’ll get 20 for winning and 18 for coming second, and so on, and sometimes you’ll get 40. It’s not quite clear why you get more than other times for some racers, but you do get more for completing certain challenges while you race. Some characters are thousands of Wumpa Coins in the Pit Stop store so just getting 20 each time would be a grind.

- Start an Adventure Mode on easy difficulty and repeat races over and over.
The best way to get them quickly is to not worry about struggling in difficult Adventure Mode races. Instead, simply head into online multiplayer races. While Adventure Mode victories can net you 20-40 Wumpa Coins for finishing first in a race, we finished third in one online race and got a huge 514 coins.
It’s worth noting, however, that the amount of coins you get from any online race seems to vary from race-to-race. In one we earned 514, and the next we earned less than 100. Still, it works out to be considerably more than
If you are intent on playing through the Adventure Mode first for your coins, create another save file, and select easy difficulty, you’ll be able to blast through race after race, winning without any trouble, racking up the Wumpa Coins in the process. You get the same amount for easy as you do the harder difficulties, but it’s much easier to win.
You can then keep repeating races, or try to complete the CTR Token and Relic challenges to keep getting more. You’ll have thousands in no time by doing this, but online races are by far the most profitable when you’re trying to get this currency for the Pit Stop.
