How to Kill the Catfish in Metro Exodus & Get the Fisherman Trophy & Achievement
Metro Exodus is all about Artyom finally braving the surface after spending so long down in the metro tunnels. That means he’s going to be facing off against all manner of weird and wonderful creatures… including a giant catfish, apparently. Here’s how to kill the Catfish in Metro Exodus and get the Fisherman trophy and achievement.
You’ll have the opportunity to defeat this enormous, mutated catfish in Metro Exodus’ third level, Volga. It’s towards the end of the level, when you need to get a train car from a huge decaying warehouse that’s filled with water and mutants. You’ll come to a large red door that literally looks like a wall that you’ll need to pass through.
If you’re facing the red door, you want to turn around, and then head through the door that leads to stairs down to your left. Head down here, and you should see what we’ve captured in the image below, as well as some dead bodies and makeshift tombstones.
The first thing you’re going to want to do when you reach this point in Metro Exodus is to look for the bell. It’s just to the right of the pieces of string shown in the image above. All you need to do is press E on PC, Square on PS4, or X on Xbox One to interact with and ring the bell.
This will call the catfish over to you in Metro Exodus, so now it’s time to bring it to an untimely end. Wait until it’s come over and snapped at you, and make sure you don’t take damage.
All you need to do now is cut the strings in front of you, shown in the above image, and this will drop the bodies hanging over the water into the catfish’s domain.
Now, to the left of these pieces of string, you’ll find a lever. You want to hold off on pulling this lever until the catfish comes to investigate the bodies you dropped into the water.
To kill the catfish in Metro Exodus, you must pull the lever (E, Square, X) as the catfish goes to investigate them. This should result in a bunch of steel beams dropping down on that exact location. Congratulations, you just killed the catfish in Metro Exodus.
As long as you timed it right and the catfish is dead, you’ll pop the Fisherman achievement and trophy, too.
That’s all you need to know to kill the catfish in Metro Exodus and get the ‘Fisherman’ trophy and achievement. For more tips, tricks, and guides for your adventures across the surface, be sure to check out our ever-expanding Metro Exodus guide wiki.
