How to Craft Special Ammo in Far Cry New Dawn
Variety is the spice of life, but in Far Cry New Dawn it’s what can give you the upper hand in a race to arm yourself with stronger and deadlier weaponry than that of raiders. That’s why we’re here today, to help you figure out how to craft special ammo in Far Cry New Dawn.
How to Unlock Special Ammo Types in Far Cry New Dawn
Available for a select set of weapons, special ammo is one of the more valuable commodities in Far Cry New Dawn.
Not only can an incendiary, explosive or armor piercing round turn the tide of battle with a single shot, but they also act as a progress meter of sorts to show you how far you’ve made it through the game.
As such, you’ll only be able to access these special ammo types after progressing to a certain point in Far Cry New Dawn; or more specifically, after progressing to a point where you can upgrade the Explosives Lab in Prosperity to ranks one, two and three.
This is done by first upgrading the Explosives Lab with Ethanol, then acquiring the specialist needed to advance it to higher levels. A guide on how to find specialists and upgrade Prosperity’s facilities can be found here.
How to Craft Special Ammo
After these tasks are completed, players will gain the option to craft special ammo at any workbench or shop in Far Cry New Dawn. This is done by interacting with the workbench or shop and then selecting the combat supplies tab. Scroll down a bit and you’ll find the Special Ammo tab.
From here, you can craft whichever ammo types you’ve unlocked in Far Cry New Dawn. Armor Piercing is unlocked after the first facility upgrade, while Incendiary is unlocked after the second and explosive is unlocked after the third.
Each special ammo type you can get in Far Cry New Dawn simply requires Copper to craft, as long as you’ve got the required upgrades to your facilities. As long as you’ve got enough, it’s simply a case of pressing X on PS4 or A on Xbox One when selecting a special ammo type to craft it.
