Death end re;Quest

Today Idea Factory International released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG by Compile Heart Death End Re;Quest.

The trailer is of the cinematic sort and conveys the mood of the game, which is peculiarly dark for Compile Heart.

The story is about a programmer trapped in a virtual reality MMORPG that glitched out and her colleague who has to lead her to safety before it’s too late.

Basically, it’s a darker and creepier version of Sword Art Online, but with the same amount of waifus. It’s a Compile Heart game, after all, so a shortage of heroines would be rather shocking.

The game’s dark atmosphere shouldn’t surprise considering that the scenario is written by Makoto Kedouin of Corpse Party fame. The character design by Kei Nanameda will also probably prove familiar to Compile Heart fans.

You can check out the trailer below.  If you want to see more, you can also enjoy the latest screenshots, a recent trailer and another batch of screenshots released a while ago.

Death end re;Quest has already been released in Japan and will come to North America in just a few days on Feb. 19, 2019. European gamers will have to wait a little longer, until Feb. 22.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
