How to Play Bloodhound in Apex Legends

Recommended Videos

Apex Legends is the brand new battle royale game from Respawn Entertainment, the creators of the Titanfall franchise. The biggest difference between Apex Legends and other battle royale games currently on the market are the cast of characters and the abilities they bring to the table.

Each character has a passive, active, and ultimate ability that provides a situational toolkit to each match. With eight characters to choose from there is plenty to dig into. Bloodhound, one of the eight current characters, is built around being able to track down enemies from their last known position.

So here is how to play Bloodhound in Apex Legends.

Abilities

  • (Passive) Tracker: See tracks left behind by your foes.
  • (Active) Eye of the Allfather:  Briefly reveal hidden enemies, traps, and clues throughout structures in front of you.
  • (Ultimate) Beast of the Hunt: Enhances your senses, allowing you move faster and highlighting your prey.

Bloodhound’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Great reconnaissance
  • Works well with any team composition
  •  Abilities are useful at all stages of the match

Weaknesses

  • No mobility options
  • No offensive abilities
  • Relies heavily on team communication

Strategies and Tips

Playing Bloodhound is all about knowing your enemies location and relaying that information to your teammates as frequently as possible. You want to be using your active ability every time it is off cooldown to ensure you are getting the most recent information available to you.

This ability is your bread and butter when it comes to recon for your team. Working in tandem with the ability to sense tracks of enemies who have passed through recently will help gain insight to where they might be heading.

You never want to leave a building without having your active ability ready to go, because you’ll want to use it before heading into whatever area you’re going to next. Heading into a building that hasn’t been properly scouted out yet can be an instant death sentence.

You want to save your ultimate for situations where you know the enemy team is nearby, but cant quite seem to nail down their location. When your team is ready to make a push, pop your ultimate and be ready to give precise callouts to your team.

One final tip for Bloodhound is if you see an enemy through a wall and that wall is made of something like wood, sometimes it’s best to shoot through the wall to really take your enemy by surprise.
