Legionnaire Challenges

End game

Now that you’ve taken care of the campaign in Anthem and helped silence The Monitor, you will begin your true trials to join the high ranks of the Legion of Dawn in Anthem.

Talk to the Bard in the Fort Tarsis Courtyard to begin your recruitment process. These challenges are a big chunk of the end game currently offered in Anthem.

The tasks are listed below:

  • Complete 100 world events
  • Complete 25 Strongholds
  • Complete 25 contracts
  • Complete 25 Quickplay matches

These will take a lot of grinding so be prepared for the long journey ahead. Matchmaking with other players will make the tasks a little less arduous, but still, it gives you plenty to do.

Finishing these challenges will net you a new vinyl for your suit, some coin and masterwork crafting material which is used for the best gear in the game.

New Strongholds

Strongholds are some of Anthem’s most challenging content. Similar to strikes in Destiny or dungeons in World of Warcraft, Strongholds have you fighting your way through an area and fighting a boss at the end.

After completing the main campaign, you’ll unlock two new Strongholds to challenge. The Temple of Scar pits you against a Scar camp that has set up inside a massive cavern, while The Heart of Rage is just the final campaign mission again including the final boss battle.

Cranking the difficulty up to Hard is an easy way to start scoring higher level gear because you’ll need it if you want to take on Grandmaster difficulty.

Reaching Max Level

End Game

Anthem’s campaign will only take you to about level 21/22, so reaching level 30 will still require some additional work.

Replaying Stronghold missions is a great way to level up, score new gear, and work towards that Legionnaire challenge. You could also roam around in Freeplay mode, finding collectibles and completing World Events if that’s more your speed though.

You probably also have some agent missions and contracts left to do so now’s a good time to wrap up any loose ends you have lingering around.

Reaching max level is essential though, because it’s the only way to unlock Grandmaster difficulty, which is where some of the best gear in the game is found.

Grandmaster Difficulty

After reaching level 30 in Anthem you will unlock Grandmaster difficulty. This is where the real end game within Anthem lies. Every mission, contract, and Stronghold can be done on Grandmaster, but be warned that this difficulty is brutal.

Grandmaster difficulty comes in three levels. Each subsequent level increases enemies’ damage output and health by significant numbers, but it also increases your chance of getting Masterwork crafting materials. To even begin Grandmaster 1 it’s recommended that your Javelin be at least power level 300.

This is where your Javelin’s loadout will come into play. Synergizing with your team is the only way to be able to tackle Grandmaster 3.

Perfecting your Loadout

Figuring out the best loadout for your Javelin can be tricky because every situation is going to be different. Communicating with your team is the easiest way to try and combine strengths to overcome any challenges.

Loading into a Stronghold with a lot of fire enemies? Make sure no one is using any fire inducing abilities that enemies might have resistance to.

Also, be sure to understand how the primer and detonator system works for combos because that’s going to be the bread and butter of Grandmaster difficulty. Luckily we already have you covered on that; you can see how those systems work here.
