Anthem: How to Hover

How to Hover in Anthem

Recommended Videos

Anthem is a brand new online multiplayer RPG developed by BioWare and published by EA. It features cool suits called Javelins, which allow you to fly around the open world. Here’s what you need to know about how to hover while in the air in Anthem.

Flying in Anthem

First things first: before you can hover, first you need to know how to fly. This can be done by simply pressing Space to jump on PC, then pressing Left Shift to start flying. If you’re on consoles, jump into the air with the A or X button, then click in the left stick to start flying.

While you’re in the air, you can tilt the left stick forward to accelerate or hold down the W key. However, flying will start to heat up your thrusters, as indicated by the white bar at the bottom of the screen. Once the meter fills up, your thrusters will overheat, and you’ll fall straight to the ground. You won’t die from falling, but you’ll have to wait a while before being able to fly again.

Why You Should Hover in Anthem

This is where hovering comes in. When you hover, you’ll remain stationary in the air, and your thrusters won’t overheat.

To do this, press the C key while you’re in the air on PC. Alternatively, you can just aim your weapon with the right-click on PC, or L2 and LT on PS4 and Xbox One. Doing so will cause you to hover, and you can shoot at nearby enemies in Anthem while you’re at it.

While hovering in Anthem, your shields will be stronger, allowing you to take slightly less damage in the air. This is a good technique to keep in mind, as you can fly to get some distance between you and your enemies, then hover to take aim and fire.

And that’s all you need to know about how to hover in Anthem. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Anthem guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
