The Resident Evil 2 remake adds plenty of fresh content, including different variations on puzzles and secrets, and some entirely new ones. Here’s where the police car to use the car key on is since it isn’t very clear in Resident Evil 2.

After you’ve descended to the police station’s basement levels, you’re tasked with finding a way out of the car park, which is blocked with a special key card. As you explore the various rooms that branch off this main hub area, you’ll no doubt have found a bent key, hidden inside a yellow toolbox (if not, examine the yellow toolbox to find the key.

This well worn key turns out to be a car key upon closer inspection (once you examine it), and you’ll probably notice the police insignia and squad vehicle number on it. But which vehicle you supposed to use the key on and where is it?

If you’ve spent a bit of time walking around the car park area, you’ll have discovered that there’s no obvious indication of where to actually use the key. But you are, in fact, in the right place.

What you want to do is stand in the middle of the park, open your inventory, examine the key and then flip it around. You should then be prompted to press the key’s button, which will open the trunk of the squad vehicle.

Inside, you’ll find a handy upgrade for your weapon.

That’s all the information you’ll need about where the police car to use the car key on is in Resident Evil 2. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
