How to Get the Multipurpose Room in Subnautica

Recommended Videos

To survive the aquatic alien environment of Subnautica you’ll want to build yourself a sturdy house. To make that happen, though, you’ll need a multipurpose room, so here’s how to get the multipurpose room in Subnautica.

As with all structures, you’ll build in Subnautica, the multipurpose room needs to be located and scanned before you can build it yourself.

First things first, you’ll want to make sure you have a few different tools on hand to make this process as easy possible; specifically, a Scanner, Knife, and a vehicle to transport you quickly. The first is necessary and the second two are optional but highly recommended.

Now, standing on your life pod, look toward the rear crashed ship where the exhausts are and then turn 90 degrees to your right. Basically, you want to swim (or preferably a Seaglide or something similar because it’s a long way) in this direction until you reach an island. It should take a few minutes.

Once you have arrived on the island you have three stricken vessels that you can scan for useful parts and structures. The most obvious is right up atop the islands’ highest peak, which you should head over toward and scan objects like the observatory, bulkhead, spotlight, etc.

The multipurpose room, however, is below that peak. Head down there and you’ll be able to scan the room. It’s the big circular structure that’s half buried.

That’s all the information you should need about how to get the multipurpose room in Subnautica. For more useful guides on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite.
