Subnautica is home to a wide range of different materials you will need to find to survive. One of the many resources you can get your hands on in Magnetite, which is used for crafting. Here’s how to get Magnetite fast and where to find it in Subnautica.
Like most raw materials, you can get Magnetite from different locations. Luckily, there’s no shortage of these resources, as they are pretty much scattered in many locations.
This crafting component can be found in the following biomes in Subnautica.
Magnetite Locations in Subnautica
- Mountains (found northeast of Lifepod 5)
- Mountain Range Caves (located next to the Kelp Forest within the mountain ranges)
- Jellyshroom Caves (found below the Kelp Forest and Safe Shallows)
- Lost River (find the entrance within the Deep Grand Reef, Blood Kelp Zones, or border between the Bulb and Mountains zone)
When looking for magnetite, you can find it as a large resource deposit in Subnautica. They basically look like a large stone with blue gems protruding out of it.
How to Harvest Magnetite in Subnautica
Unlike some of the other crafting materials in the game, you can’t use your hands to salvage magnetite. Instead, you will need to have a Prawn Suit Drill Arm to harvest these deposits.
To make one, you will need to have a Moonpool to upgrade your prawn suit. You also need the following materials to craft the Vehicle Upgrade Console, which is used to make the Drill Arm:
- Titanium (5)
- Lithium
- Diamond (4)
