As the name might suggest, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is the ultimate entry in the series, bringing back every single fighter and adding a host of new ones. For the first time since Brawl, Ultimate also bring an ambitious Adventure Mode into the mix called World of Light. Of course, if you’re picking up the game you’ll no doubt be wondering how long World of Light is in Smash Bros Ultimate.

Well, Smash Bros Ultimate’s World of Light is probably a little bit longer than you might be expecting. World of Light has you exploring a massive world map, taking on a number of Spirit Battle in the process. There are also dungeons you can dive into and explore, and sometimes have to in order to keep the story going. However, you don’t need to complete every one to finish Adventure mode.

Without spoiling anything there’s more to World of Light than just this main map, but we won’t say anything beyond that. There are literally hundreds of Spirit Battles dotted around the mode, and the length it takes you greatly depends on how much you’re wanting to see and do.

If you’re just wanting to power through the story, only saving as many characters as you have to, it’s probably going to take you around 10-15 hours. However, your time can increase significantly if you want to see and do everything.

In our own playthrough we took the time to complete almost every Spirit Battle, with the exception of a few very difficult ones. We also made it a point to track down and awaken every character in the roster. This made our playtime for World of Light roughly 27 hours. There are 11 dungeons in total to explore throughout the mode, each themed around a different game.

Once you’ve beaten World of Light, you will get the chance to start New Game +, carrying over all the spirits and characters you’ve unlocked. It’s worth noting that any characters you unlock in Adventure Mode will be unlocked in the whole game, if you haven’t earned them through other means.

That’s everything you need to know about how long World of Light is and how many dungeons there are in World of Light in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
