Following Wednesday’s results, the Japanese statistics firm Media Create posted its weekly analysis, focusing on the performance of the most relevant release of the week, Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth for Nintendo 3DS.

Media Create mentions that the 79,747 copies sold by the game in its debut week are less than half of the 187,000 copies sold by its predecessors in its first week on the shelves. The percentage of sold copies compared to shipment is also 64.54%, while Persona Q was at 80.64%.

That being said, this is still the best-selling debut for a 3DS game in 2018, beating Etrian Odyssey X which launched with 72,000 copies sold in a week in August.

According to the firm, the game is “putting up a reasonably good fight” despite the fact that the hardware momentum of the 3DS is declining.

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth launched in Japan on Nov. 29, 2018 exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. At the moment it doesn’t have a western release announced, but since Etrian Odyssey X is coming (on Feb 5, 2019, by the way) there is a good chance that this one will make it across the Pacific as well.

At least, we can hope.
