Celeste surprised the video game industry when it released at the start of 2018, featuring beautiful visuals, masterful level design, and an engrossing story. Its success didn’t fade as the year went on though, as this indie darling managed to compete with the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War for the top spot in many Game of the Year competitions.

In our official review for the 2D platformer, Zhiqing Wan praised Celeste for its trial and error approach to platforming. “Every death is a lesson learned, and with every lesson comes improvement.”

All you need to do to claim this deal is be a Games with Gold member. Games with Gold is an Xbox Live subscription service that gives players access to online play and discounts, with the best rate being $60 for the full year.

Alongside Celeste, Games with Gold subscription members will also be able to download World Rally Championship 6 this month. The racing title becomes available Jan. 16, downloadable for a full month for free.

As always, installing a Games with Gold game means that it is now officially in your library. So be sure to download Celeste before the end of January if you want to get your hands on this amazing platformer for no cost.
