Pokemon Let’s Go: What the Gym Order Is

Here’s What the Gym Order Is in Pokemon Let’s Go

Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu sees players returning to the region where it all started: Kanto. As such, they’ll be making their way through the classic eight gyms, featuring characters players have come to know and love such as Brock and Misty.

Still though, with this entry aimed at bringing in fresh faces new to the series, there might be players unsure of the order. Here’s what the gym order is in Pokemon Let’s Go.

Gym 1 — Pewter City

The first one you will need to make your way through is located in Pewter City and features Brock as the gym leader. This one has two trainers, with one being optional, you must defeat before facing off against Brock. Because it’s Rock type, we recommend Pokemon move types such as fighting, ground, steel, ice, water, or grass.

Gym 2 — Cerulean City

The second gym to make your way through is in Cerulean City and is headed up by Misty. This gym, like Brock’s, has two trainers (with one of them optional). Because it’s based around Water type Pokemon, we recommend using grass or electric moves against her.

Gym 3 — Vermillion City

The third one is in Vermillion City and features the rough-and-tough Lt. Surge as the leader. More of a puzzle than anything else, you’ll be searching for hidden switches under trash cans (simply interact with the trash can to determine if there is a switch under it) that allow you to enter the next room.

During all of this, there are three trainers you must face. Once gaining access to the next room, you’ll fight Lt. Surge. With Pokemon of the Electric type, we recommend bringing something with Ground moves.

Gym 4 — Celadon City

The fourth one is in Celadon City and is lead by gym leader Erika. This gym is maze-like and requires the use of  the Secret Technique, Chop Down. You must also defeat at least two trainers before you can fight Erika. With Pokemon that are Grass type, we recommend Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire and Ice moves.

Gym 5 — Fuchsia City

The Fuchsia City gym is the fifth one in Pokemon Let’s Go and will see players facing off against look-alike trainers and invisible walls that turn an otherwise simple-looking gym into a tricky puzzle. Featuring Poison Pokemon, we recommend the use of Ground and Psychic type moves.

Gym 6 — Saffron City

The Saffron City gym is the sixth one in the game and is one of the trickiest in the game. Not only are the Psychic trainers tough to defeat, but this place is a maze of teleports that almost guarantee you’ll be facing off against at least three trainers.

The leader at the end of the warp maze is Sabrina, who like the rest of the trainers here, specializes in Psychic Pokemon. Because of this, were recommend Dark, Ghost and Bug type moves.

Gym 7 — Cinnabar Island

Lead by Blaine, the Cinnabar Island gym is the seventh one players will need to go through in Pokemon Let’s Go. To get inside, you must first acquire the Secret Key from The Pokemon Mansion. With that, you can unlock the front door and head inside.

Once inside, you will need to answer several trivia questions to advance to the leader. With everyone specializing in Fire type Pokemon, we recommend Water, Ground and Rock moves.

Gym 8 — Viridian City

The eighth and final one is located in the game’s first major city, Viridian City. It’s led by Team Rocket leader Giovanni and is the toughest in the game. As such, this one features the one-way spin tiles seen in the Team Rocket Hideout.

Once you make your way through those and all of the trainers, you’ll face off against Giovanni. With Ground type Pokemon being the feature here, you’ll need Water, Ice and Grass moves to earn this badge.
