A Line of Pokemon Cards Influenced by ‘The Scream’ Painting Are Coming to Tokyo

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

A collaboration between the Pokemon Center and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum are bringing Pokemon cards into the world of art with a limited collection inspired by Edvard Munch’s famous painting, The Scream (via Polygon).

These Pokemon cards will soon be available for purchase at the museum and at storefronts. Mimikyu’s card will be the first one up for grabs as it will be available on Oct. 27 while the others will be on sale up until Jan 20.

An exhibit based on Edvard Munch’s career and pieces of art will launch the same day as the trading cards, which will apparently mark the first time that The Scream will be shown off in Japan. And unfortunately, in order to complete this adorable collection, each card will have to be purchased separately.

You can check out all five of the Pokemon cards below featuring Pikachu, Eevee, Psyduck, Rowlett, and Mimikyu. We don’t think that this line will be available over here in the west but we’re definitely going to take a trip over to the Tokyo Art Museum to snatch some of these. I don’t think there’s a better reason to travel across the world if you ask us. I just want a Scream version of every single Pokemon now:
