Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Launches in January Along With an Adorable Steelbook

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Bandai Namco has announced that Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will launch on January 11, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This pushes the game out of the 2018 window that was previously given for release. The official Tales Twitter also revealed an absolutely adorable Steelbook edition of the game featuring Repede, the canine party member of Tales of Vesperia, and candidate for best video game dog.

At this point, Bandai Namco hasn’t revealed exactly how you’ll get your hands on the Steelbook, whether it’ll be part of a specific special edition, a launch bonus, or something else. For those unaware, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is an enhanced upgrade of the PS3 version of Vesperia that originally released in Japan in 2009. The version added on an entirely new playable character named Patty Fleur, made Flynn a permanent party member, added new story scenes, and a host of other changes. Sadly, the PS3 version of the game never made it to the west, until now that is with the Definitive Edition.

On top of all the added content and a visual upgrade, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will also support both English and Japanese audio. You can take a look at the initial reveal trailer for the game down below.
