How to Get Back to Cobblestone in Dragon Quest XI
Like many traditional JRPGs, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age tells a classic story about light versus dark, good versus evil. You play as a young man from Cobblestone Village, who one day finds out he’s the reincarnation of the chosen hero known as The Luminary. Leaving your quiet hometown behind, you have to travel the world of Dragon Quest XI and uncover a way to stop The Dark One. Of course, seeing as you left the town behind you’ll no doubt be wondering how you might make your way back home, especially if you missed some of the collectibles or sidequest. Luckily, there is a way to get back to Cobblestone, but there’s a bit of a catch.
You’ll return to Cobblestone partway through the story of Dragon Quest XI to find it changed, although we won’t say how or why for spoilers. After that your ability to return to the town will be blocked until you advance the story even more. Basically what you’ll need to do is keep playing the story of Dragon Quest XI until you’ve beaten the section in Gondolia, and gotten access to the ship. After that, you can sail back up and disembark on the Emerald Coast dock, then run back up the area into Cobblestone again.
Much later on in the game, you’ll once again get the chance to return to Cobblestone, and the town even plays into a big late-game sidequest in Dragon Quest XI, with some valuable rewards.
That’s everything you need to know about how to get back to Cobblestone in Dragon Quest XI. For even more guides and walkthroughs on the game, including a list of handy beginner’s tips, make sure to check out our expansive wiki.
