How to Get New Supers in Destiny 2: Forsaken

Recommended Videos

New supers are one of the most anticipated features in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Although it’s not quite as dramatic as the time when Destiny 1 added brand new subclasses, Nightstalker, Sunbreaker, and the Stormcaller, it’s still pretty exciting considering there’s going to be something new for every single subclass to look forward to.

If you’re jumping into Forsaken, one of the first things most people are going to want to do right away is unlock their new super and abilities. The new supers are tied to a milestone quest. This quest becomes available after you’ve returned to the tower after the first two Forsaken mission and speak to Ikora Ray. Thus, you won’t be able to unlock all of them right away. You’ll need to make a conscious choice about what your “main” is per main class (Titan, Hunter, Warlock), or at least, what you want to be able to use in the raid when it launches the week after Destiny 2 Forsaken is released. If you hustle, you might be able to get two done before the raid releases.

To get and unlock your new supers in Destiny 2: Forsaken, you’ll need to complete the aforementioned quest which should begin after complete the opening mission the new expansion.

You’ll start by collecting visions of light, check out our guide for how to farm those as quickly as possible, but in short, you need to do the following to get them: complete adventures, lost sectors, strikes, crucible matches, and/or kill powerful enemies (orange bars). The shards are either rewarded or picked up off the ground (you can see them as bright light blue crystals).

After that, you’ll be sent to a specific location somewhere in Destiny 2 where you’ll need to complete a short mission. We’re keeping this intentionally vague to avoid spoilers for you, but from this point it’s straight forward. Follow along, complete all your objectives and you’ll unlock your new super and all of its new abilities.

That does it for how to get the new supers in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Be sure to search our wiki guide for more Forsaken info.
