Sega has released the opening movie for Project Judge, the recently announced new IP from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the studio best known for Yakuza. The opening sports some slick animation showing off the different characters of the game, set to music by the Japanese rock band Alexandros.
Project Judge, also known tentatively as Judge Eyes, is a legal suspense action game set in the Yakuza series’ iconic location of Kamurocho, Tokyo. The game stars a defense lawyer turned detective named Takayumi Yagami (played by the famed Japanese actor Takuya Kimura), after his reputation was ravaged by a former client.
While Project Judge does sport some similar action-based gameplay to Yakuza, it also puts a big emphasis on conducting investigations; questioning witnesses, gathering evidence, trailing targets, wearing disguises, and more. A demo for the game is currently available on the Japanese PSN.
Project Judge will launch on Dec 13 in Japan for PS4. A western release has already been confirmed by Sega, but right now there’s only a release window of sometime in 2019.
