Nintendo’s Online Service for Switch Kicks off in the Second Half of September

Nintendo has just shared new information about their upcoming online service for the Switch, stating that they will be rolling out in the second half of September. That being said, the following online service includes:

  • Online play in compatible games, including Splatoon™ 2, ARMS™, Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis™ Aces, and more.
  • Nintendo Entertainment System™ – Nintendo Switch Online – A selection of classic NES™ games with newly added online play.
  • Save Data Cloud Backup – Save your game data online for easy access. This makes it easy to retrieve your game data if you lose your system or start using a new one.

The company has also reminded players that they will need to manually buy the online service as they will not be automatically subscribed. Consumers can choose from either the individual or family plan, ranging from one to 12 months. You can also download the smartphone app which includes the communication service that players can use to communicate with others when playing online.

So far, Nintendo has yet to drop the actual release date for their Switch online service. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as soon as more details surface.
