Late Monday night, Nintendo revealed the results of the Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legends 2018 event, a fan-voted popularity contest that occurred in January, through a video update. Hector from the original Fire Emblem game and Celica from last year’s Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia both managed to take first place in their gendered bracket while Veronica, an original character from Fire Emblem Heroes, and Ephriam from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones both nabbed second place.
All four characters will receive a new summon in the mobile title that features new outfits and unique, powerful abilities. The updated heroes are being included in a new event called Arrival of the Brave, which will go live at 12:00 a.m Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, Aug. 21, which has more than likely started if you’re reading this.
In an effort to generate hype for the event, every player will get a chance to summon a five-star version of one the new heroes without having to give up any Orbs, the premium currency in Fire Emblem Heroes. The free summon event goes live at the same time as the Arrival of the Brave kicks off.
The pace of updates for Fire Emblem Heroes has slowed significantly in the past year. The last notable event was the Grand Conquests event that launched in April, which added a new, titular game mode that could only be played during certain dates and times. The last time one could participate in a Grand Conquest was from June 26 to July 2.
