Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Gets Beautiful Gamescom 2018 Trailer; Launches January 2019

The long-awaited sequel in the Ace Combat series won’t be much longer now. With the weight of more than 10 years of anticipation on its shoulders, Bandai Namco has put out an incredible Gamescom 2018 story trailer for the flight simulator. The trailer also provides a release date, and states that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will launch on Jan. 18, 2019.

In Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, you’ll revisit the Usean continent, which was a recurring setting for the first four games. As part of the Penitentiary Unit, players will take the role of former and disposable criminals who are tasked with pushing back against a new threat.

This new game will feature new weapons and improved flight controls. With these additions, you will be able to employ more complicated strategies using futuristic superweapons and real-life inspired fighters such as the A-10C Thunderbolt II, F-35C, and Rafale M. Bandai Namco has also announced two new Ace Combat flight sticks that you can use with the game. The T.Flight Hotas 4 Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Edition flight stick is available from Thrustmaster for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, there is also the Ace Combat 7 HOTAS Flight Stick from HORI for PlayStation 4.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will launch on Jan. 18, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
