New Shadow of the Tomb Raider Gameplay Shows off Paititi, “Largest Hub Ever Found in a Tomb Raider Game”

This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

A new gameplay video, released on the official Tomb Raider channel, walks through what the video is calling the “largest hub ever found in a Tomb Raider game.” The area, known as Paititi, is a lost city that Lara will come across (presumably earlier on since it’s probably unlikely that the official channel would spoil something major), and will be a place where Lara will be able to branch off to find optional tombs and side missions.

It’s a little weird that everyone seems so chill with Lara running with weapons looking all modern and stuff. Most interactions with undiscovered or low-contact civilizations untouched by modernity have not gone all that well for the most part. Nonetheless, I’m glad both parties seem to be quite cool with the present situation. I’m sure Lara will prove herself quite helpful. as she is one to do. Well. when she’s not causing apocalypses and stuff.

What’s especially interesting is that you’ll have the option to have the native Paititi people either speak in their native language, or have it voice-over’d in English or your whatever your language of choice is. Check out the video above for the full walkthrough including a look at some Shadow of the Tomb Raider side content and plot details.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year on Sept. 14.
