Rocket League Physical Release Slated for Late August

The bizarre game of race cars ramming into giant soccer balls will finally be getting its much-deserved physical release with Rocket League: Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition will be available physically for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on Aug. 28, and this edition will come with lots of DLC goodies for long-time fans of the game or anyone hoping to start scoring goals.

As reported on the Rocket League website, the Ultimate Edition will come with 16 DLC Battle-Cars and a variety of cosmetic items. Along with the DLC cars, there will also be several DLC packs included with the purchase of the Ultimate Edition:

  • Chaos Run DLC

  • Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC

  • Supersonic Fury DLC

  • Aftershock, Esper, Marauder, Masamune, Proteus, Triton and Vulcan DLC Battle-Cars

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack

  • DC Super Heroes DLC Pack

The game will be cost you $39.99 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and $49.99 for Nintendo Switch. Best of all, “all of the above will be on-disc or on-cartridge” with “no codes inserts in sight!”

In Rocket League, players team up with friends or strangers to become the masters of the soccer pitch. Though, this game shakes up the usual humdrum formula by placing players behind the wheels of speedy, beautifully customized vehicles. After gaining massive popularity, Rocket League began incorporating more iconic vehicles based around pop-culture such as the Jurassic Park Jeep and matching Mario and Luigi cars. Gaining further traction, several e-sports teams have cultivated Rocket League-specific players for competitions and prizes.

Rocket League: Ultimate Edition is coming for PS4, Xbox One and Switch on Aug. 28 for North America. A full list of release dates can be found on the game’s website.
