How to Get Into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta

Recommended Videos

Each and every year, just like clockwork, Activision releases a new entry into the Call of Duty series, and this time, it’s Black Ops 4, courtesy of Treyarch. With no single-player campaign to speak of this time around, players will instead find a trio of multiplayer modes to dive into. The classic multiplayer CoD action will lead the charge, supported by a revamped Zombies mode, and Call of Duty’s take on the popular battle royale genre, Blackout. While not all of these modes will be available to play in the CoD: Black Ops 4 beta in the next few weeks, some players are likely still wondering how things are shaping up in its multiplayer mode ahead of the October release date.

How to Get Into the Black Ops 4 Beta If You Preordered Digitally

First things first, let’s get something cleared up. If you want to check out the CoD: Black Ops 4 beta on any platform, you’re going to have to have preordered the game either digitally, or from your preferred brick and mortar retailer.

If you preordered through the Xbox Story, PlayStation Store, or Blizzard.Net, you don’t need to worry about anything. This will automatically qualify you for entry into the Black Ops 4 beta, and so all you need to do is download the beta file from your platform’s store when it’s live and you’re all set.

How to Get Into the Black Ops 4 Beta If You Preordered in a Store or Online Retailer

If you’ve preordered a physical copy of Black Ops 4, you’ll either be emailed a code that you’ll need to enter on your platform, or you’ll have already been supplied with one upon preordering the game (it’s normally the former). Once you’ve got the Black Ops 4 beta code, simply make your way to your platform’s store, select the Redeem Code option, key it in, and then download the beta client. That’s all there is to it!

When the Black Ops 4 Beta Is Live on All Platforms

Just because you’ve redeemed your code, doesn’t mean you can immediately start playing the Black Ops 4 beta. The servers will only be live at particular times, and the PS4 also has an initial weekend of exclusivity before PC and Xbox One players get a chance to check it out. Here’s all the info you need below:

PS4: Aug. 3 at 13:00 PM ET to Aug. 6 at 13:00 PM ET & Aug. 10 at 13:00 PM ET to Aug. 13 at 13:00 PM ET.

Xbox One: Aug. 10 at 13:00 PM ET to Aug. 13 at 13:00 PM ET.

PC: Aug. 11 at 13:00 PM ET (Aug. 10 at 13:00 PM ET for Early Access) to Aug. 13 at 13:00 PM ET.
