It’s official! Nintendo and Game Freak have officially unveiled the new Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch, and they’re titled Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! respectively. The games look to be a massively upgraded remake of the original Blue and Red entries on the Game Boy. You can check out the reveal trailer in the Twitter embed down below.
What’s most interesting about the trailer is that it seems to feature some sort of co-op mechanic, where two players can play locally and travel across the Kanto region together. We also got a glimpse of both trainers participating in battles against the NPCs together, as well as having their own Pokemon following them around in the world. Because the game is on the Switch, we’re also getting motion controls with the Joy-Cons, where you can flick the Joy-Con to toss a Pokeball, kinda similar to how captures work in Pokemon GO.
Speaking of Pokemon GO, it’s also looking like Let’s Go Pikachu and Eeeve will feature some sort of connectivity function to Pokemon GO itself, where you can transfer your pocket monsters back and forth, though it’s not exactly clear what players will get out of this.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! are set to be released for the Switch on Nov. 16, 2018.
