Overwatch Reaches Over 35 Million Registered Players

That’s a lot of heroes.

Blizzard has announced today via their official Twitter page that team-based shooter Overwatch has reached over 35 million registered players.

It seems as though there’s no stopping Overwatch’s growth, as the game started with 10 million users during its beta alone in June of 2016. The game managed to accrue over 25 million players less than a year later in March of 2017, then reached 30 million players just this past April.

Overwatch’s Halloween Terror event is well underway on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, bringing two new PvE game modes and a hefty set of new goodies to collect, including a new set of skins and other Halloween-themed unlocks. Indeed, in addition to the skins and cosmetic items players could earn with last year’s Halloween event, they can now collect skins like Dragon Symmetra, Cultist Zenyatta, Van Helsing McCree, and more. There are over 50 items to obtain throughout the event, so players will want to spend a lot of time in-game should they want to collect them all.

This Halloween Terror event will only last until November 1, making now a great time for fans who have yet to jump in on all the Overwatch goodness. In other news for the franchise, cyborg ninja Genji is getting a Figma statuette and pre-orders for the figurine are available right now. The popular character is the second to receive the treatment, as a Tracer Figma was up for pre-order this past June.
