Scary for the holidays.

The Resident Evil 7 “Beginning Hour” demo received an update this weekend on PlayStation 4, and will be coming to Xbox One and PC this month, Capcom confirmed in a blog post.

“Midnight” is the final update for the Beginning Hour demo, and allows players to explore beyond a mold-covered door which had been locked. The spooky door “where terrifying growling noises emanate from” was added in the first “Twilight” update, released earlier this year. PS4 Pro owners will be able to experience the updated demo in 4K resolution, and includes an optional PlayStation VR mode.

The demo drops for Xbox One on Dec. 9, while PC owners will receive it on Dec. 19. The PC demo will reportedly feature “a multitude of PC-specific settings and graphics options,” but was not discussed further in detail.

Resident Evil 7 comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on January 24, 2017. In related news, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter comes to theaters a few days later on January 27. It is the sixth installment of the live-action film series loosely based on the Resident Evil franchise.
