Diablo’s 20th Anniversary is a special moment for developer Blizzard and to celebrate they have announced that the original game is being recreated. In order to play this, you will need to own a copy of Diablo III otherwise it will not be playable. This will be a complete recreation of the first game, featuring all 16 maps and the original 4 bosses including Diablo himself.

Not only that but Blizzard is including a texture pack that will actually downgrade to the original game’s graphics, giving it that classic pixilated look. They’ve also decided to remove the full motion controls you original had, in favor of the original 8-point directional system. Essentially, this will be the original game but far smoother and cleaner than we have ever experienced it before.

Blizzard also announced that there will be two new zones to explore for players that will come with new bounties, enemies, and bosses to slay. You will not need to roll a new character in order to experience it, but it is recommended as it will make the game far more balanced. If you are a fan of the original or have never experienced it before this is something you will not want to miss.
