Overwatch’s Next Short Focuses on Bastion, Will Premiere at Gamescom

Beep boop!
overwatch, op

Of all the Overwatch characters, Bastion is the one that has rubbed players the wrong way. On one hand, he’s an adorable robot with an even cuter bird on his shoulder! On the other hand, he turns into a turret that mows everyone down the moment he sees them. So of course, he’ll be the focus of the next character short.

The short will show what happened after he awoke after years of being inactive during the Omnic Wars. No doubt it’ll explain how he came to find the bird on his shoulder, along with some interactions with human beings. That more than likely won’t end well at all. It’ll premiere exclusively onstage at Gamescom on Aug. 18 at 9 am Pacific time. If you’re not there, you’ll be able to watch via Blizzard’s livestream of the event.

“The Last Bastion” makes him the fifth Overwatch character to get a dedicated character short. Winston was the first, followed by Widowmaker, Hanzo, and Soldier: 76. Other members of the game’s cast have shown up in those trailers, but it’s not known if any of them will be cameos in this one.
