Konami Announces Metal Gear Survive, a Co-Op Stealth Game

That FOX engine though.

Konami might be deep in the pachinko business right now, but that doesn’t mean they’ve completely forsaken the Metal Gear name, as shown in this new trailer for a game called Metal Gear Survive. You can check out the new trailer below, courtesy of IGN.

Here are some brief details about the game, taken straight from IGN’s exclusive reveal:

‘“Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements,” said Konami European president, Tomotada Tashiro in a press release, “but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”

The zombie-like enemies shown are referred to by Konami as “biological threats”, and mention is also made of teaming up to take down “massive threats”, which could potentially be the Metal Gear heard at the end of the trailer.’

The game is set after the events of Ground Zeroes, where surviving members of the MSF are transported to an alternate universe where they have to fight zombies… Huh. Oh, it’ll also be made with the beautiful FOX engine.

Metal Gear Survive will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.
