Alienation Is Getting Local Co-Op, Housemarque Welcomes Back Fans

"Are you ready to save the world again?"

With Housemarque’s Alienation set to release exclusively for PS4 tomorrow, the developer took the time to send a nice message to their loyal fans.

While the developer’s most recent game was the chart-topping PS4 launch title Resogun, Alienation harkens back a bit further, reminiscent of Housemarque’s PS3 game Dead Nation. Instead of trying to play down the similarity, the Finland-based studio is embracing it. “Are you ready to save the world again?” the message asks. “This time it is not zombies. It is… aliens.”

The most notable part of the video however, comes in the final seconds in the form of a sudden announcement that local co-op will be coming to the game. At launch, Alienation will allow 4-player co-op or PvP online.

A twinstick shooter, the game features three different character classes, each with their own abilities, a campaign of procedurally generated levels, and Housemarque’s uniquely vibrant style of destruction.

Speaking in a press release, the developer said, “The development of Alienation has been a long journey both for us and Sony XDev. There’s been good times, but also pretty bad times. We gave it all we have, and we really hope you like it.”

Alienation releases tomorrow, April 26. For everything you need to know about the new shooter, keep checking back right here on Twinfinite.
