Rise of the Tomb Raider – How to Get the Lock Pick

Let no door block your path.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Rise of the Tomb Raider has quite a bit of looting players can do as they explore the harsh of Siberian wilderness in Lara’s latest outing. Unfortunately, some of the valuable you want to pilfer are locked behind doors, chests, obstacles, and beasts that want to halt your progress. For the most part you’ll have to just progress through the story to be able to revisit certain areas and complete your collection, but other useful items require you to stray from the beaten path.

One of these items is the Lock Pick. This item is necessary to unlock pad locks that you’ll run into throughout your adventure in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Weapon Parts, Relics, Salvage, and other resources can be found to aid you in your journey as well as bring you closer to those 1000 Gamerscore points. To obtain this item though, you’ll need to complete a side mission rather than a main one. Head over to the Logging Camp shortly after completing the mission that forces you to run from an attack chopper. Here you will meet one of the natives from the area and he’ll need your help.

He will ask Lara to help him destroy five radio towers scattered about the area. If you can do so, he’ll have something for you. Don’t worry about not being able to locate these things since accepting the side mission automatically marks them on your map and you can easily pinpoint them using your Survival Instincts (they’ll have green pulsing beacon indicating them). After you’ve dealt with all of them, simply head back to the gentleman and he’ll be over the moon. He doesn’t have much to offer but he is more than happy to give you his Lock Pick. Now get out there and steal some things from the enemy, because two wrongs sometimes can make a right in video games.
