Bloodborne: The Old Hunters – How to Get the Holy Moonlight Sword

Its advice is silent, but its glow shines bright.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The Holy Moonlight Sword belonged to Ludwig and bears a striking resemblance to Ludwig’s Holy Blade. The main difference is that instead of a constant sheath, the weapon is alone and hitting L1 summons an Arcane Sheath that deals heavy Arcane damage. It also gives it a telltale greenish glow that lets you know the Holy Moonlight Sword means business.

To get your hands on this one, head over to where you defeated Ludwig, the Holy Blade and look for his severed head. It will still have life and will speak to you for a little while. Listen if you’d like (it is sort of interesting) then attack the head until it is completely dead. You’ll be able to receive this fabled weapon once the task is done.

The swords is now yours. If you really want to get fancy with it, you’re able to shoot out a wave of light that damages enemies in its path. Tap R2 for a horizontal one or hold R2 for a charged up vertical wave. You’ll be the talk of Yharnam.
