Sony revealed on the PlayStation Blog that the PlayStation Experience will host the Capcom Cup this year. An Ultra Street Fighter IV tournament that will pit the 32 best players in the world against one another as they vie for a piece of the $250,000 prize pool.
The tournament will consist of a  double elimination bracket with best two out of three matches up until the final 16. At that point it switches to best three out of five until a champion is crowned. As players progress they’ll have the opportunity to to win one of six prize tiers. The payouts are:
- 1st: $125,000
- 2nd: $60,000
- 3rd: $25,000
- 4th: $15,000
- 5th & 6th: $10,000 (each)
- 7th & 8th: $5,000 (each)
PlayStation will have two streams running so that fans won’t have to miss out on the biggest Ultra Street Fighter IV matches of the year. If you’re wondering when things will kick off, tune in on Dec. 6 at these times:
- 10:00 AM — Opening Ceremony
- 10:30 AM — Round 1 and 2
- 2:00 PM — Analyst Desk
- 2:30 PM — Top 16 to Top 8
- 5:30 PM — Analyst Desk / Break
- 6:30 PM — Top 8
- 9:30 PM — Closing / Awards Ceremony
You can still grab tickets if you want to witness the tournament in person. But whether you’re there in person or watching via live stream, it’s sure to be exciting.
