Metal Gear Solid V: TPP Guide – How to Find the Metamaterials Specialist

Who doesn't want invisibility?
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

So, you love using the stealth camo item in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? I bet you’d love to upgrade it to its maximum potential too. Well, to do that, first you need to recruit the metamaterials specialist for Mother Base. He can only be found in mission 17: Rescue The Two Intel Agents.

When you first drop off at the landing zone, open up your iDroid and place a marker right between the two yellow objectives on your map. There’s a little shack in the middle of the field where your specialist is being held. Make your way towards the marker until the shack comes into your view. Thankfully, this specialist isn’t quite as well-guarded as mission 10’s transportation specialist. There’s only one guard in the shack, and you can take care of him easily by shooting him with your tranquilizer pistol through the open window.

Dispose of the guard, hop into the room, and locate the metamaterials specialist in the left corner of the room. After that, simply carry him out of the room, and then Fulton him back to your base. You don’t have to complete mission 17 to secure the specialist. After you’ve extracted him, call in your chopper and leave the hot zone. And there you have it, the metamaterials specialist will join your ranks in Diamond Dogs, and you’ll be able to continue upgrading your stealth camouflage.
