Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be getting a version 1.3.0 update next week, as announced by Monolith Soft, and translated by Gematsu. The patch will bring about a few quality of life changes, as well as the long-awaited New Game Plus mode that should offer the game even more longevity after you’ve seen all it has to offer.

Here’s what you can expect from the New Game Plus mode:

  • It is possible to befriend Blades on the Torna side as player Blades such as Obrona, Sever, Perdido, and Cressidus.
  • Additionally, Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhail from Torna can be befriended as Blades.
  • All Blade Mercenaries can be dispatched. At the same time, Blades such as Pyra and Mythra that you could not leave your party in your first playthrough can also be dispatched.
  • Unlocks a Driver’s “Reverse Affinity Chart” and adds even further growth.
You can level-down a Driver’s level at inns, as well as earn bonus EXP depending on the lowered level.

Players will also be able to carry over their gold, items, Driver level, equipment, and town development upgrades. All in all, it sounds like a pretty hefty update, and players looking to dive into the adventure a second time have a lot to look forward to.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
