There’s a ‘Shocking’ Pokemon Announcement on Its Way Later This Week

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Pokemon fans around the world could be in for something of a shocker this week, as the Japanese children’s TV show Oha Suta is planning on revealing some sort of news for the series. With E3 2018 right around the corner, just about anything could happen in the gaming industry, so announcements like these are certainly ones to keep your eye on.

In a tweet from Pokemon fan site Serebii this morning, a translation of an official description from Oha Suta notes that there will be a segment during Pokemon this Thursday, May 31 that airs with a “shocking” Pokemon announcement.

“Worldwide shock!” the description reads. “We have obtained shocking information concerning Pocket Monsters! Witness the moment a new history of Pokemon is born!” A “new history” sounds pretty exciting, but unfortunately we won’t know what that means until the show airs. It’s also apparently not about the Pokemon anime series, because there’s another separate bullet point of information beyond that where “the latest information on the Pokemon anime” is teased.

We’ll keep our eyes and ears open and make sure we bring you the latest when the announcement makes its way to television. Hopefully this means additional information about what the newest Pokemon video game titles will eventually end up being.
