Sword Art Online has gotten its fair share of games over the years, mainly landing on the PS Vita and other home consoles. Now, it seems like Bandai Namco is looking into bringing the SAO game series to the Nintendo Switch. Fatal Bullet producer Keishi Minami recently mentioned the idea at a Q&A corner during the Fatal Bullet “Strongest Squad Finals” live stream.
When asked whether they plan to make a SAO game for the Nintendo Switch, he mentioned, “Since I’m a gamer at heart like everyone else, I’m also hoping that we will release on Nintendo Switch…” However, the producer added that they are still discussing their plans with upper management. “It might take a bit of time, but it’s being considered with a positive outlook.”
“We are looking at it positively from all angles. After all, there are a lot of people playing on the Switch and Sword Art Online has a lot of young fans,” said another Bandai Namco higher-up, “So even though it’s still a work in progress, I hope you’ll look forward to when we are able to make a formal announcement.”
Fatal Bullet is the latest entry in the Sword Art Online game series, which is available now on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Only time will tell if the developers will bring over the games to the Nintendo Switch
