Splatoon 2 Is Getting Spooky in a Few Weeks With Splatoween, a Halloween-Themed Event

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Nintendo has announced that starting on Oct 19, there will be a 48-hour Halloween-themed event for Splatoon 2. Not only will there will there be a Splatfest centered around trick-or-treating, but there will also be re-designed stages and Halloween decorations placed around Inkopolis Square. The two stages that appear in the official screenshots for Splatoween are Moray Towers and Musselforge Fitness, with the both of them decked out in spooky knickknacks (via Siliconera).

This fright-filled Splatfest begins at 3 p.m. PT on Friday, Oct 19 and ends at 3 p.m. PT on Sunday, Oct 21. You’ll be able to choose if you prefer trick over treating – we all know what the real answer is. We’re obviously going with treat because everyone knows that Halloween is all about the free candy from strangers. Who would want to do something mean-spirited like tricking people with their scary masks? That’s just rude if you ask me.

Splatoon 2 is now available for the Nintendo Switch. Just keep in mind that in order to play the multiplayer modes, you will now have to be subscribed to the paid Nintendo Switch Online service. The service comes included with a collection of classic NES titles, backup cloud saves for specific titles and special discounts.
