Heroes in a half-shell, turtle power! Yup, that’s right. Nintendo is bringing the famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Splatoon 2 via three Splatfests that will decide, once and for all, who the best ninja turtle is. The first Splatfest will pit fans of Leonardo versus lovers of Raphael. Both hosts will once again be taking sides as Pearl takes the side of Raphael while Marina fights for the katana-wielding Leonardo. Like always, it seems that Pearl has taken the more popular side, being the least favorite of the duo of hosts, while Marina is taking the lesser-beloved character. Nintendo seems to always do this for Splatfests just to make the competition fair and just, considering that Splatoon 2 players always side with Marina for the most part – maybe it’s because she’s a DJ, who knows?
The first round for the TMNT Splatfest kicks off this weekend at 9pm PT on May 4. The next Splatfest will pit the two others turtles together, Donatello and Michelangelo, leading up to the final Splatfest that will decide the winner of the TMNT popularity contest.
