Sega has announced that Shining Resonance Refrain, the Japan-only PS3 game, will finally be making its way Westward this Summer. The original Shining Resonance released in 2014 in Japon on the PS3, and its real-time combat system has an emphasis on music and instrument weapons. Shining Resonance Refrain will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but GameInformer has confirmed that the game will also be making its way to Switch in the West.
Refrain is a remake that adds a number of new features and enhancements onto the original. The game now runs at 60fps, and features over 150 pieces of DLC added onto the original game that include new costumes, songs, weapons, and more. The game also features a new “what-if” scenario known as Refrain Mode, that adds on party members you didn’t originally get in Shining Resonance. Take a look at the announcement trailer down below to see a bit of the game.
Anyone that purchases the game at launch will get the Draconic Launc Edition, that includes a metal slip case featuring character art of Excella, Sonia, and Kirikia.
Shining Resonance Refrain will be out sometime this Summer on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. We’ll make sure to update you once the proper release date has been announced.
