A while ago, Twinfinite reported about a PS4 trailer from the South Korean arm of Sony Interactive Entertainment filmed in the typical style of local dramas, and today they released another.
This time around, the title is “There is no better ending than a happy family.” While it’s pretty easy to follow even if you don’t know the language, I’ll give you the gist of the dialogue.
A son explains that since his father retired, his parents haven’t had any hobbies to bring some fun into their boring lives, that’s why he decides to give his dad a birthday present
When he and his brother pull out the box of a brand new PS4 Pro, their father asks “What is this?” and the sons explain that it’s a PlayStation and it’s fun. The mother chimes in “oh, this is fun!” and the brothers keep encouraging them: “it’s totally fun!”
Their father is skeptical, mentioning that he isn’t good at video games. Yet, the sons keep encouraging him: “You can do it! You can do it!” “But isn’t it difficult?” “No, it’s very easy to start!” “Let’s install plug it in!” “But I’m old. It’s not the same at my age.”
As his parents try out the console, the son explains that the gift was almost a joke, but the change it brought was unexpected.
As the younger son returns home, he finds his mom playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and he’s dumbfounded when he hears her getting heated and shouting: “Hey Son of a ****! On No!” as she struggles with the game.
“Mom is cooler and braver than I thought.” He realizes.
Then it’s the older brother’s turn to come home from work, and he finds his dad playing Beat Saber with PlayStation VR.
From that point on, they become reacquainted with their parents, and their relationship improves as they play games together. It’s not like their parents improved, but they simply have something to share: “There’s no better ending than a happy family.”
You can check out the trailer below. It’s really funny and heartwarming, so it’s gonna be three minutes well spent.
