Two new clips have been posted to the Japanese site for Star Fox Zero, and they clearly show the work that’s been going into the game since its delay. The title was originally announced in June with a Holiday 2015 release date, but suffered a delay into 2016. During its newest Nintendo Direct this week, the company announced a new date of April 22, 2016 for Star Fox Zero.
The delay has been described as tightening the overall experience, including a visual upgrade and “further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes” according to series creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
With the first new clip below you can see some traditional fast-paced Star Fox gameplay, something that has been sorely missing in the footage we’ve seen so far. The second clip shows a side-by-side view detailing the cockpit control mode that uses the Wii U GamePad.
By everything we’ve seen from the game recently, the delay may be just what Star Fox Zero needed to nail its experience down. Take a look at the new gameplay clips below, and let us know what you think about them. Are you excited for Star Fox Zero? Do you think the delay to April 22 was a wise move for Nintendo?
