Developer Sony Interactive Entertainment San Diego Studio broke down the trailer in a PlayStation Blog post with a few changes, including new unique home run celebrations, a revamped hitting engine with improved physics, and atmospheric touches like the “Judge’s Chambers” of Yankee Stadium. The trailer also touts an improved player tagging system and an expansion to the series’ single-player Road to the Show campaign mode.

The developer plans to reveal more of the game through video blogs and Twitch livestreams twice a week until the game’s official launch on March 27. The schedule includes discussing improvements of gameplay, commentary, and Road to the Show.

Pre-order bonuses have also been announced for specific retailers and the PlayStation Store. Pre-ordering from anywhere gives 10 standard packs and one legend card for the Diamond Dynasty mode, and allows players access to the game four days earlier on Friday, March 23. Pre-ordering from GameStop or EB Games gives an additional five standard packs, while the PlayStation Store offers 5,000 Stubs and an exclusive Aaron Judge Rookie Flashback Card for the previous game, MLB The Show 17.

MLB The Show 18 launches on March 27 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
