Recently, 2K Games announced the formation of new studio 2K Silicon Valley under the leadership of Michael Condrey.
Today, during Take-Two’s financial conference call, President Karl Slatoff had enthusiastic words to share about the veteran developer.
“We’re very excited to bring Michael Condrey on board for us. It really follows our pattern of trying to attract and retain and develop the best talent in the industry. That’s obviously something that’s a very important part of our strategy, and we’ve been able to do that to date and it’s not by accident.
Michael joining us is, in my opinion, one of our best hires in a very long time, and i’m very excited about what he’s gonna do with the new studio.”
That being said, Slatoff declined to mention how long it’ll take for us to see anything coming from the new studio.
If you’re unfamiliar with Michael Condrey’s work, he was development director of Dead Space and then Chief Operating Officer at Visceral Games.
After his stint at EA, he founded Sledgehammer Games in 2009, where he worked on the Call of Duty franchise as Studio Head until the end of last year.
