Two new story driven expansions have been revealed for Metro Exodus. One will follow Sam, who was part of the Aurora’s crew in the base game, while the other follows an entirely new face, Colonel Khlebnikov.
The first piece of DLC is called The Two Colonels, will follow Khlebnikov, and is due to release in the summer. It takes place “just below the surface, under the dead city of Novosibirsk, as he makes his way home to his son, Kirill, for New Year’s Eve,” but it doesn’t go as smoothly as he hoped.
Slime has begun to envelop the tunnels that are his path home and mutant attack are beginning to rise, making it more dangerous than ever before.
The second story is called Sam’s Story and is due to release in early 2020. Sam is the American character Metro Exodus players would have come to know in the base game, and the new content is a larger sandbox level, like those present in the main game.
He’s always planned on returning to his homeland and begins his journey following the events of Exodus. We will pick Sam up in Vladivostok as he tries to fight his way home.
The description of Sam’s Story reads, “To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.”
Both of the new stories will be free to expansion pass owners once they release, but they will also be released separately to be purchased by anyone without the Pass.
The Two Colonels and Sam’s Story will come to Metro Exodus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Summer 2019 and early 2020 respectively.
