The first new feature is Noir Mode, which turns the entire game’s visual to black and white. It includes both gameplay and cinematics, and can be toggled on and off in the options menu.

The in-game HUD can now be customizable with the update, allowing players to turn in-world main objective markers, mini-map enemy markers, and navigation features like turn-by-turn instructions and the mini-map GPS on or off.

There is also the Minimal HUD mode which hides HUD icons such as the mini-map, speedometer, and objective text.

Hangar 13 said it added “a couple new gameplay features” to the game’s Free Ride mode, but did not  detail what exactly. The Free Ride mode allows players to explore Lost Heaven without objectives but still be able to find collectible and other secrets.

The update also fixes certain issues such as cars not unlocking from Lucas Bertone missions, a special assassination animation not triggering in The Saint and The Sinner mission, and certain cinematics occasionally showing a black screen instead.

Mafia: Definitive Edition and the the update are now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
